From Medicine to the World's Screens

At University College London, studying medicine and specialising in neuroscience, Fagun saw something her textbooks couldn’t explain: stories reach people in ways prescriptions cannot.

An ITV News feature on her academic record led — serendipitously — to an audition, and a debut in film. She went on to win the BBC’s nationwide search for acting talent against tens of thousands, train in classical acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and star alongside Academy Award winners in Hollywood and international cinema. Then she stepped behind the camera — training as a film director, with stories of her own to tell.

Born from her research at Cambridge, The Purpose Movie Studio is where she leads today — with work at the frontier of artificial intelligence, including a landmark documentary on the minds shaping AI. One purpose runs through it all: to educate, empower, and inspire people to act. Her work has touched millions of lives worldwide.
